Winston Churchill

“This is a fantastic place, one of the best hotels ever,” it is in these glowing terms that the British statesman describes La Mamounia in a letter to his wife (in the 1950s). A loyal client of the Palace, Winston Churchill spends part of the winter at La Mamounia to recharge his batteries and freely indulge in his passion, painting. Posted for hours on his balcony, Churchill watches the setting sun and captures the soft light of the ochre city that he so loves to reproduce in his watercolors.
