Sir Winston Churchill was not only one of La Mamounia's most
famous guests, but also one of most faithful.
The hotel has therefore named
one of the most charming suites in his honour. Everything has
been designed in an English style with Chesterfield furniture,
including a regency desk and wood panelling.
This suite is a small museum
to the great man, with original documents and photographs
outlining his life on display. A copy of one of his hats and
umbrellas can also be found. However, perhaps the best reminder
of why Churchill loved to come to Marrakech for relaxation,
is his easel, which stands in one corner of the suite, with
an unfinished painting of the Mamounia gardens that he also
so loved to paint.
